West Side pride

I'm totally lost on the East Side, so sometimes I like to stay close to home with these staples from the other side of 75.

    Wild Mike's

    Wild Mike's - 0

4498 Harrison Ave. - Cincinnati (Bridgetown)

When you're not feeling the crowds at some of the other big-name sports bars, Wild Mike's is a great alternative. A basket of wings, crunchy celery (ask for it on the side) and Killian's on draft makes for a good night.

Zen and Now Coffee House - 2

4453 Bridgetown Road - Cincinnati (Bridgetown)

Zen and Now has a following, and sometimes it's hard to figure out who works here and who just likes to hang out at the eclectic yet cozy neighborhood coffeehouse. The local art on the wall adds to the cool factor, and many students take advantage of the free WiFi and patio out front to sip their smoothies.

    Champions Grille

    Champions Grille - 4

    5039 Crookshank Road - Cincinnati

Their big appetizers and all-ages crowd makes this a fun spot, especially at night. They also make a killer Irish Car Bomb.

    Wok of China

    Wok of China - 0

5030 Glencrossing Way - Cincinnati (Westwood)

No-nonsense Chinese take-out, and that's what I like about it. They're super quick and the food is nice 'n hot.

This is a no-brainer. I like the brunch and the hometown atmosphere.

    Thai Taste

    Thai Taste - 2 1/2

    5120 Crookshank Road - Cincinnati

HonestIy I don't really like Thai food, but my vegetarian family likes the friendly staff and the fact that it's one of the few ethnic restaurants on the West Side. Plus, sometimes they cut up vegetables into little animals, which is totally cool.
