This is one of those places that could easily be in the "feel good" category (if there was one). The food is top-notch, the atmosphere is inviting, and the owners are welcoming.
foodcolor wrote about Mayberry
We went on their 3rd day open. It was filled, the service was efficient and friendly. Get carry out as the seating is limited. The food was generous and delicious. Good hearty fare with a gourmet twist. Salads were fresh and satisfying with varied good flavors. Could be a new favorite.

I stopped in at fish house before going out drinkiing for the evening for a bite to eat. At first i was worried it was too expernsive but after receiving high quality service and sushi i realized it was all worth it. Me and my date ordered a St. Gregory roll to start and it was probably the best roll that i have ever pallated although a little spicy it was very good. after ordering a couple more standard rolls we decided to split the plank sea bass i have to say it was quite delicious. Our server bisert was one of the better sservers i have had you could tell he had good knowledge of the menu and geuinely cared about us as his customers. Overall the experience was awesome the fish house is a great place to grab a bite to eat before going out in Mt. Adams.

I stop on regular basis when in KY. My favorite is "Rueben" sandwich on rye. Try "sauerkaut" on pizza, don't believe you can get "sauerkaut" on pizza at anyother restaurant in Cinti/Ky area, my 1st and I loved it ! Karen in Kenwood

PADRINO pizza in Milford is the one to watch! No more Donato's for me, Padrino is cool and tasty!
liskomaeli wrote about Kyojin Japanese Buffet
* THEY ARE NOT CLOSED ON SUNDAY * I grew up in California and have missed sushi. I was highly skeptical about a sushi buffet. I have tried sushi at Chinese buffets and was (and still am) absolutely unimpressed. Kyojin is not your typical buffet. There is a selection of asian-buffet-type dishes/salad bar/dessert bar along with excellent seafood and delicious sushi. I am a regular and would highly recommend a visit. I have no idea what the previous reviewer means by "kind of sushi-like." There is a full sushi bar and the sushi chefs are accommodating and will make rolls to order (included in the buffet price). The Kyojin website has some good pictures if you're more visual. In case the site is not listed above: kyojincincinnati dot com Mon-Sat lunch is $10, a fantastic bargain. Dinner is $17 - $20 A non-sushi bar buffet price is available if you're not a fan. If you're paying $7-$10 per non-vegetarian roll at another restaurant (or Kroger, why?), try Kyojin and sample an excellent variety of sashimi and other sushi.
mikeg898 wrote about Vincenzo's Ristorante Italiano
My family of four and myself all ate here and were EXTREMELY displeased. 3 out of the 5 meals had problems. The other two were good, but I can do a better job in my own kitchen. My girlfriends meal was chicken over angel hair pasta, with a tomato/mushroom sauce. The chicken had a burnt taste to it, the sauce was a bit salty, and they initially forgot the mushrooms. These items can all be corrected, so finally after my girlfriend tried to eat it she said to the waitress that it wasn't good and that she didn't want it. Anyother place I go to eat at, which is everywhere, I'm always asked what was wrong with it, do I want the chef to remake the meal, or do I want something else altogther....well none of this was communicated; instead we were told sorry, this has NEVER happened, and the manager took it off the bill. If this had never happened at my restaurant I wouldn't let the customer leave with an unsatisfied palate...for the FIRST time. Two people in our party had gotten the same meal and were sick all night long. The waitress never asked us if we wanted refills, I should say another FINE bottle of pepsi. Basically for how busy she was, which was so busy she had to sit at the bar and chit chat, the service we recieved was RIDICULOUS! To top it off we called the following day to speak with the owner concerning our wonderful visit. The first time he said, "The waitress has been here for 14 years and that you cannot please everyone." My girlfriend also called the owner after hearing this ridiculous retort and told him that we would tell everyone we knew of the service, she would never hold any of her business' functions there, and that she was going to call the BBB if we didn't recieve an apology ( that's asking alot, I know). In reply he said, "Tell everyone you know about your experience, call the BBB, I don't care if you wouldn't hold your business functions here, and to top it off he refused to apologize for the service. In close, I would much rather eat my own food, go to Bravos, or even Maggianos....Maybe not entirely authentic, but it beats the heck out of this place. Just in case you do want to brave this sorry excuse for AUTHENTIC Italian cuisine, our lovely waitress was Debbie.

rlrvir wrote about Ferrari's Little Italy Restaurant
The pasta, meat and fish entrees are great. The table bread is as good as it gets. Also visit the bakery for fresh bread on weekdays. Dessert specials are superb. The only fault of this fine restaurant is that most items are overpriced, particularly the pasta items.
bradford2 wrote about Main Cup
I am a huge fan of great coffee and good food. The Main Cup delivers BOTH and does it with an appropriately freindly attitude. No babbling baristas or snootie servers here!! The food has always been really, really fresh and very tasty. The atmosphere is small town coffee antiquey and the place is clean. I've chatted with Milford locals while dining there so I find that the Main Ciup also serves as a place that brings the community together. The only downfalls are 1. on a cold winter's day, you'll smell the roasting smoke from the coffee roaster and it is not always the best smell when it fills the room and the windows and doors are all closed. 2. the restroom is located through the kitchen. This is the reason for the 2 out of 5 stars for ambiance. Bottom line: you must try this place! Hopefullly the owner will sell his coffee online someday, but that's a whole other story . . . .

KYBikerVet wrote about Pompilios Restaurant
I loved going to Pompilio's with my parents as a kid, my family knew the Pompilio family for years. However, they no longer own the business and the recipes are NOT the orginal family recipes! The quality of the food has taken a nose dive over the past 20 years; I had the unfortunate luck of contracting food poisoning from the Fettucine with Red Clam Sauce on my last visit. Rumor has it that the Pompilio family is attempting to get the business back, I really hope they get it!

daveyb commented on A weekend around Hyde Park
This hits the main highlights of traditional HP life, except for the sushi surge of recent years. It is too easy to pass through other neighborhoods that have had the life sucked out of them by the malls and big box stores. It is good to recommend we support our local businesses so that we have somewhere to walk to on a nice fall day.
GetBombed wrote about Christy's and Lenhardt's
I was at Christy's on homecoming and a great time. It was really busy but every bar was. They had a tailgate thing set up in the parking lot that was sponsored by corona and red bull and apparently is there every UC home game for football. One bartender made us a shot called a "252" for me and a buddy, it put us on our ass but was great because that’s what we asked for. Then the best part was when we left we got to see three 40 year old men knock each other out ha it would of been a lot better but the door guys stopped it. Great place to chill and have a beer if you don’t want to deal with underage drama in Clifton. Buttery Nipples? Really? Ha hope you’re a girl.
SwordofDamocles commented on Inside: Hamburger Mary's
I'm sure this place is just fine, for what it is, but it seems that all we actually have here is one more trendy place to see & be seen. Give me the City View Tavern, Oregon Street, Mt. Adams, anytime. Great burgers, dynamite view of downtown, and a much less pressured atmosphere.
offthedasher wrote about Bali's Indian Restaurant
The Indian food is first healthy. Second the flavor is a full bouquet of traditional herbs and spices. The service is superb, and finally I can say I have found a restaurant that beats Ambars right here in my own neighborhood. The price is better the food is better, the ambiance is better...the beer is well Indian
tbohn3 wrote about Walt's Barbeque
The service and the personnel are great alond with the different types of food that can be ordered. As a diabetic I found that the food was agreeable with my condition and that after eating there was blood sugar levels were just fine. The menu was quite different than the ones I've seen here in Kansas . I really enjoyed the ribs and his own barbeque sauces that he has mild or the spicy ine with jalepenos in it. I find the the personnel that he has working for him are just being in one big happy family where everyone is treated the same. I'd go back again on my visit back thru there on the way back to Maine. I find that their prices are very reasonable compared to prices for good barbeque ribs and brisket here in Wichita, Kansas. I 'd go back again when I go back thru the area on my travles.

They do have carry out for Sushi and Hibachi Grill. The hibachi food and Sushi is the best you will ever eat in Cincinnati !! They are not open for lunch. Portions are huge. Great atmosphere. Bar side has DJ on Friday nights and usually great bands on Saturday night. Great dancing spot ! Outdoor patio to eat/drink.

jcswabek wrote about Half Day Cafe
Food has always been fresh and excellent. Menu variety changes every season. Service is usually quick and pleasant. Noise level is sometimes hard to talk above, yet this is a place to meet friends and neighbors while getting a great meal. $$ is a bit high but every item is cooked to order and pleasantly served. I am so proud and happy we have a wonderful place like Half-Day in our small town. Hope it will be here to stay for a long time.
