See what happens when a hungry man pushes his stomach to the limit
By Lori Kurtzman, Metromix
The date: Jan. 9, 2011. Jammin’ Joe LaRue, 50, a competitive eater from Erlanger who’s crushed nearly every local food challenge, has arrived at Joe’s Diner in Over-the-Rhine to take on an alarmingly large cheeseburger.
His goal: Put away a gut-busting 3 pounds of ground beef topped with a half-dozen fried eggs, 12 strips of bacon, 12 slices of cheese and a whole salad worth of tomatoes, lettuce and onions. Oh, and a side of fries.
He’s got 30 minutes to do it, or else he’s stuck with the $19.95 tab.
