Best Damn Dish: Courtyard Café/du jours
Summer in Cincinnati starts with the Taste of Cincinnati, held on Memorial Day weekend, and the Taste of Cincinnati starts with the Best of Taste competition, held this year at Sysco Food Service in Evendale. Thirty-eight restaurants participated in the Best of Taste competition, submitting 106 dishes. There will be 45 restaurants with a booth at Taste of Cincinnati.
THE DISH: Raspberry Cloud Pie

The big winner was Courtyard Café/du jours, with three awards, plus Best of Taste. Courtyard Café, on Main Street in Over-the-Rhine, has won many times in the past, including for the raspberry cloud pie. du jours is its sister restaurant, a café in the Gateway Building on Elsinore Ave., serving a very similar menu. Both are owned by Bob “Bullet” Traut.
