If you’re in the mood for authentic Peruvian, Sabor Peruano will hit the spot. The inside of Sabor Peruano pays homage to Peru with flags and a sky mural over the dining area entrance. Flowers and cacti poke up in corners. Even the shows on the TV are in Spanish. The menu might seem a little intimidating for first-timers, with items such as Lomo Saltado (sautéed stripes of lean beef, onions, tomatoes and rice) or the Chuleta a la Jardinera (two deep fried pork chops with sautéed onions, served with a vegetable yellow rice). There are vegetarian items, too, like the Tallarines Saltado de Vegetales (spaghetti with onions, tomatoes and vegetables with soy sauce). Either go by the menu’s pictures, or ask one of the friendly servers for a suggestion. Since you’re being daring, why not try one of their domestic beers or yummy fruity drinks.
