The Greater Cincinnati Independent Restaurant Association's Restaurant Week now includes two weekends for you to sample some of the area's top locally owned establishments.

Beginning Monday through March 21, each participating restaurant offers a three-course special for $26.12.

This highly regarded restaurant and café combines a myriad of cuisines to create an eclectic menu suitable for all appetites. The café offers live music on Saturdays and fresh game instituted in every menu (roast boar tenderloin or pan roast venison loin, anyone?). Chef Shawn McCoy has really taken the upscale casual restaurant to another level with his wide-ranging choices. The décor and cherry wood bar complete the elegantly designed restaurant. Brown Dog offers an expansive drink selection with more than 50 kinds of wines and a comfortable bar area to grab a cocktail before dinner.

This casual but elegant eatery overlooks the Ohio River and Northern Kentucky. The menu features what View calls "an inspired twist on American cuisine" - which means there is truffle oil in the mac and cheese, lamb in the meatloaf and bacon jam with the scallops. If you're eating on a budget, consider the prix fixe menu, where three courses are just $25. In September 2011, they updated the menu to combine the American dishes from the original View menu with some new Italian choices.
