I was craving some hot Italian food, and Mama Vita's seemed like it would be a good spot for some delicious pasta. I was absolutely right.
The aroma of homemade marinara sauce, Parmesan cheese and garlic bread lead us to Mama Vita's, a small, homey space in Loveland. The restaurant is comfortable, with booths and tables holding families, couples and kids. Bottles of wine in wine racks are visible, and the menu even suggests which one would go best with your meal of choice.
I was starving, and our eyes gravitated toward the garlic cheese bread ($4.99) - six slices of Italian bread coated with garlic butter and cheese and served with a side of marinara. The hot cheesy bread hit the spot, and it wasn't hard for two of us to finish off every single slice. To go with our meals, I had a glass of Terrazzo ($5.25) and my fiancé had a glass of the Ca'Montini pinot grigio ($6.75).
I was having a hard time choosing between the spaghetti with meatballs ($15.49) or the manicotti ($16.49). I went with the latter since the menu said it was voted "Best in Cincy," and I asked for a meatball on the side.
He had the chicken Parmesan ($17.49) with two breaded chicken fillets topped with sliced mozzarella and marinara on a bed of spaghettini.
My manicotti included three pasta sleeves filled with herb ricotta and marinara on a bed of spaghettini. The cheese filling had the perfect creamy texture to complement the tender pasta, and it came out piping hot, just like I wanted.
After eating for at least half an hour, it still looked like I hadn't even touched it because there was so much food. Not to mention both entrees came with house salads and freshly baked garlic rolls. (Yeah, we sort of carb overloaded!)
Since eating another bite was out of the question, we didn't order any homemade cobbler or canolis, although they were tempting.
