Mama Vita's: User Reviews
We had been wanting to try Mama Vaita's for over a year and finally decided to try it inviting another couple to join us, our treat. I was shocked at the service, which was horrible. We purchased a $45 bottle of wine which was brought to our table opened. There was no presentation. When we requested an unopened bottle of wine, the waitress brought another one to our table, opened it up quickly without giving us the opportunity to look at the label, then hastily sat the opened wine down with the cork with an obviously negative attitude. Needless to say, it ruined the evening. My wife and I were speechless and embarrassed that we invited guests to this restaurant. Yes, the food was good (though pricey for being a cafeteria or luncheon style restaurante) but there is absolutely no way any of our party of four will ever return to that restaurant, and I would have to discourage anyone else from subjecting themselves to the same experience, especially after paying a $180 bill.

I've been going to Mama Vita's for three years now & in the beginning the food & service
were excellent, in fact i made a point to frequent this establishment every year on my birthday for pizza instead of birthday cake ! No more, the quality of food & service have
gone way down & my last encounter on my 48th birthday involved a complaint about the
pizza being dry & rather unappetizing .Tthe owner was very reluctant to ammend the
problem & eventually offered me a couple dollars off of my next purchace, suggesting
the economy was rough for everyone and that i could go elsewhere if i didn't like it. I was
quite taken aback by this attitude of defiance in comparison to other eateries i'd frequented throughout the community .The food , for the most part, is rather " hit & miss "
in my opinion , depending on time of day & staffing shortages & the inconsistancy &
other " irregularities "make it a unappetizing value , not to mention the price doesn't equal
the value recieved !!!

This was Skyline with a wine list. Frankly, LaRosas is better. If I'm trying a new Italian place, I usually order a standard like lasagna or spaghetti and meatballs, just to judge the relative quality. The lasagna I got tasted like a ton of ricotta, and not much else. Kind of like something you would get from the frozen food department at Krogers. My wife got penne pasta and sausage. The dish looked like they had just tossed on some sauce, topped it with some cheese, and microwaved it. Lame. Very lame. For the money Olive Garden or Larosas is much better.

Found this great place through restaurant.com, and have been a frequent customer ever since. The atmosphere is most welcoming, and the food is fantastic! Try their delicious pizzas (our family's favorite is the meat topper), or any of their diverse selection of food in the menu. Just a short drive off 2-75. Great service, great food, plenty of draft beer.
