Sankalp, a new Indian restaurant in Sharonville, uses no chicken, no meat, no seafood and no eggs in its dishes. There are dumplings and pancakes, crispy street snacks, curries using nuts, potatoes, cheese and vegetables, classics from Bengali and Gujarati cuisine, even Indian-Chinese dishes – all formulated according to the vegetarian principles followed by about 40 percent of Indians, most of whom eat dairy, but not eggs. Tables in the long, large dining room are lined up under round hanging lamps with a subtle pattern of white flowers, echoed in the table tops. Simple tan walls and black chairs give it a sophisticated if slightly austere look.
