Opened in the '50s, the Root Beer Stand still looks like carhops should be filing out of the kitchen, serving cold mugs of root beer to eager customers. While the carhops are long gone, the laid-back retro atmosphere of The Stand remains. Root beer floats are obviously a popular choice, but the Stand also serves ice cream, sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers and chili dogs. The Stand is only open in the summer, so get there while it's still hot out and slurp some root beer at one of their outdoor picnic tables.
