Been anxiously awaiting the opening of Bilog as I pass by it everyday on the way to work- high expectations were met! Stopped by after work the other day, things were quiet but employees were busy cleaning, prepping, etc- great sign from the getgo seeing as they were all high school kids. Menu seemed a bit small, not very kid friendly. I ordered the Hungarian mushroom soup, tofu filled pastry and some kind of pink gelato or sorbet. Soup was excellent, very rich and flavorful, reminiscent of a stroganoff. House salad that came with was superb, best I've had from a place like this. The bun was fluffy and golden, and an herbed tofu mixture was inside- so great- whoever invented that yummy little treat deserves a prize. Was expecting the gelato to be subpar, but it was surprisingly good- very light and tangy (it was guava, I believe). The chef was friendly and came out to my table to bring me a sample of a peanut soup- kind of tasted like warm peanut butter to me, but my mushroom soup was fabulous so no complaints. Prices seemed a little steep for the portion size, but well worth it. The sweet highschooler who served me was all smiles at the register- so cute. Great artwork and fireplace. Only complaint would be that the coffeebar seems to be in the way of the line, and the menu seemed a bit small and not so kid friendly. Give this place a try! Can't wait to come back and try the coffee and sushi.

I just had Bilog food at a catered event. It was delicious! The selection had something to please everyone, from appetizers, stews, drinks, and deserts. The only problem was everything was so good, the items were plucked from the trays before they even made it to the buffet table. I'm definitley going there as soon as they open their restaraunt in mid-November, 2011.
