Best vegetarian entree: Courtyard Cafe
Thirty restaurants submitted nearly 80 dishes in the Best of Taste competition. We got the chosen few to dish - pun intended - on their award-winning creations for Taste of Cincinnati.
THE DISH: Black bean burrito (black beans, assorted spices, green chiles, tomatoes, shredded jack cheese topped with cheddar cheese, salsa, sour cream and green onion served with tortilla chips)
FROM: Courtyard Café
HOW MUCH: $3.50
THE QUOTE: "There's no filler in it. We don't put rice or anything (like that) in it. ... It's got a nice spice to it," says co-owner Bob Traut. "It's filling and it's a nice size portion for the money, and you get all the carbs from the beans; it's different. There's no fillers in it, and everything is homemade."
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT TASTE? "All these people come down, and they're just walking by, a nice mix of people, and everybody seems to be in a good mood," Traut says. "It's a lot of work, but it's fun."
