Coffee Emporium in Hyde Park has to provide one of the better coffeehouse experiences in town. The upstairs sitting room has a view over Erie Avenue in its picturesque front window and overlooks a beautiful garden in back. You can also schedule an appointment to have high tea upstairs, complete with delicious baked goods to complement the beverages. On warmer days, sit under the purple flower-covered pergola and read the morning paper. If you’re hungry, try a breakfast burrito or on Sundays, get there before 2 p.m. for waffles. Coffee favorites include the mint mocha, the glacial mocha, iced tea combinations and the peanut butter cup.
