Brit-Brit didn’t make our list at all last year; although 2008’s “Circus” seemed to herald a return to form, we felt the jury was still out on whether Spears could ever fully regain her status as one of pop’s reigning sex symbols. Then she released this year’s pop-tastic “Femme Fatale” and there was no denying it: Britney’s back, bitches! Yes, she’s lost a step or two in the dance moves department, but for the first time since before the shaved-head meltdown years, she looks fit, foxy and above all, happy. Whether she’s lip-syncing her way through a thousand costume changes on her current tour or making tongue-in-cheek cameos on “Glee,” Britney is clearly once again enjoying being Britney—and nothing’s hotter than that.
