'Kickapoo,' from 'Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny'
Arch-rockers Tenacious D, known to their mothers as guitarists and singers Jack Black and Kyle Gass, nearly one-upped their predecessors Spinal Tap with this uproarious mini-opera. Kicking off the D's 2006 debut film with a brilliant bang, "Kickapoo" showcased not just Black and Gass' uncanny gifts for jokes and riffage, but also smoking cameos from Meat Loaf and Ronnie James Dio. As the God-fearing father, Meat Loaf brought the fire-and-brimstone to a chubby Jack Black's childhood backside, while Dio was a metal angel of deliverance from the dead-end of suburbia. Ever try laughing uncontrollably and banging your head at the same time? It hurts worse than an Oscar snub.
