Ahoy, mates. The ninth annual Forecastle Festival is ready to dock for the weekend in Louisville and the lineup includes some of the Tri-State’s very own local musicians.
The festival will combine more than 100 bands on five stages, along with art and activism lineups. It’s expected to draw 25,000 people to the Louisville Waterfront, with notable headliners including Widespread Panic, Smashing Pumpkins and The Flaming Lips.
Five local bands are scheduled to perform, representing the rock, country, bluegrass, folk and indie-pop genres of the area.
Here’s what you need to know about them, who they’re looking forward to checking out and why it’s important to put some gas in the car to make the 100-mile trek.
