Andrew Bird, 'Break It Yourself'

We don’t have much advance info about the latest album from the indie-rock singer/whistler/violinist. Bird produced and recorded it himself at his barn-cum-studio in Western Illinois, and it apparently features some very abstract, mournful violin/synth stuff, which can be heard in a 34-second teaser video on Bird’s website. Track titles include "Desperation Breeds...", "Eyeoneye" and the excellent "Near Death Experience Experience." If you buy tickets to Bird's upcoming tour, you’ll get a digital copy of the album delivered to your inbox at midnight the night of March 5, along with two live EPs.
