Where you’ve seen/heard her: Well, first of all, it’s worthy to note that Lady Tee’s career was heavily influenced and helped by Mr. Rick James. Bow down now. She has also been signed to both the Motown and Epic labels, cumulatively releasing 13 studio albums from 1979 to 2009. That’s quite an expansive career.
Why she’s worth buying a ticket: As a child of the ‘80s, Teena Marie made several appearances at my backyard trampoline dance parties where all present were wearing jelly bracelets and fluorescent colors. It’s going to be an awesome time warp with Lady Tee, to say the least.
