Ben Gibbard and band played Cincinnati last September and are back for an overdue encore. Sure, they get classified as emo or writers of overwrought songs, but in concert Gibbard is funny and both their old and new music resonates beyond the labels. They’re a band who has been successful at being mainstream while maintaining their indie roots, which makes them ideal to headline a huge festival. Maybe if we’re lucky they’ll play a Postal Service song.
