Day three in the Texas heat and things just keep getting weirder—and generally better! From the Vivian Girls' madness at the Lamar Bridge to Hot Leg's leather-clad set at Stubb's to DEVO's big gig at the Austin Music Hall, SXSW 2009 is showing no signs of slowing. Meanwhile, Peter Bjorn and John redeemed themselves with a solid set at the Fader Fort, Primal Scream rocked the Scottish Arts Council showcase, Echo and the Bunnymen and Black Lips brought different flavors to the proceedings at Stubb's, and bizarro supergroup Tinted Windows convinced us (we think?) that they're a good idea. Also on tap Friday: the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, N.A.S.A., GZA with the Black Lips, Glasvegas, the Crystal Method, and Annihilation Time. Now if we can just make it through the weekend...
