The Pick of the Week is I Gotsta Get Paid by ZZ Top, one of four tracks on EP Texicali, the trio's first new studio work in nine years. That "Lil Ol' Band From Texas" unleashes its trademark grit and grease in a raw, bluesy rough-and-tumble treatment of 25 Lighters, the 1998 drug-hustling rap by fellow Houstonians DJ DMD, Lil' Keke and Fat Pat.

THE PLAYLIST

10 intriguing tracks found during the week's listening:

Give More Power to the People, Joss Stone
Backed by Muscle Shoals players, the British soul belter ably revives the 1971 Chi-Lites hit on Soul Sessions Volume 2.

Little Talks, Of Monsters and Men
The indie sextet offsets the arty chill of previous Icelandic acts with a noisy, catchy pop tune.

Youth Without Youth, Metric
Emily Haines' tale of lost innocence is submerged in an electro-rock throwdown of sinewy beats and feedback.

The Keepers, Santigold
Santi White goes for '80s pop and cops from Prince's Little Red Corvette on this Master of My Make-Believe tune.

45, The Gaslight Anthem
Brian Fallon's post-breakup agony can't keep traction on a tune this invigorating, tricked out with punk guitars.

Silhouettes, Avicii
The Swedish producer whips up a big booming house track with warm vocals and a thrill-ride aural drop.

Navajo, Ponderosa
A dark groove haunts the soaring chorus and chiming guitars on this track from the rock quartet's Pool Party.

Trojans, Atlas Genius
The Aussie foursome is off to a tart start with this irresistible pop single from debut EP Through the Glass.

Azul Sabina, Juanes
The Colombian star shines in a blues duet with Spanish legend Joaquin Sabina on Juanes' MTV Unplugged disc.

Suffragette City, David Bowie
After 40 years, still a dizzying, glam-slam camp classic, on the reissue of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust.
