Free download: Jesse Thomas song is a Starbucks pick

Singer-songwriter Jesse Thomas, a Covington native, is featured as this week’s Starbucks iTunes Pick of the Week for her 1950s-inspired single "You I Want."

Free download cards of the single are available at all participating Starbucks in America and Canada this week.

After graduating from Northern Kentucky University in 2007, Thomas moved to Los Angeles, where she began playing shows and recording rough demos. She captured the attention of producer Jim Roach, who signed her to his Red Parade Music Group in 2010.

Thomas is set to begin a West Coast tour in March with Stacey Clark and Jake Newton that will lead up to a showcasing spot in the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas.

In August, Metromix featured her song "Say Hello" off the EP Hazel as one of music writer Daniele Pfarr's songs of the week.

"Hazel" was featured in the New and Noteworthy section on iTunes and debuted in the Top 10 on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart.
