bridesmaids was a horrible movie. It had very few laughs.

Hit: R-rated comedies
Undeniably summer’s biggest trend, the 2009 mega-success of “The Hangover” paved the way not only for creatively disappointing, commercially potent sequel, “The Hangover Part II” [pictured left], but also three other big R-rated comedy hits.
“Bridesmaids” [pictured right] rode a wave of media hype over its female-driven ensemble to become the highest grossing movie ever produced by Judd Apatow, “Bad Teacher” arrived seemingly out of nowhere to revive Cameron Diaz’s sagging film career and “Horrible Bosses” stayed close to the “Hangover” formula and reaped the rewards.
But by late July, the R-rated comedy craze started to stumble as Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis’ “Friends with Benefits” performed adequately, but couldn’t duplicate the success of January’s similarly themed “No Strings Attached.” And then the real disasters hit…
