Don't mess with these brainy backstabbers
By Brett Buckalew, Special to Metromix
From Woody Allen’s nervous stammering to Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s cheerful McLovin’, movie geeks tend to be cutely benign.
Every once in a while, though, a film focuses on the rare bad apple in the brainy bunch. The much-buzzed-about “The Social Network,” opening Oct. 1, delivers a damning depiction of how bright, eccentric Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg, “Zombieland”) betrays his best friend (Andrew Garfield, “Never Let Me Go”) on the road to becoming the world’s youngest billionaire.
Here’s a look back at cinema’s most indelible pre-Zuckerberg evil nerds. Bully these poindexters, and they’ll bully you right back.
