Where they filmed it: We're not sure of the exact location, but the house in this remake of the Japanese film “Ju-on” was built from scratch on the same soundstage used for “Godzilla” and “Seven Samurai.”
What's on screen: Karen (Sarah Michelle Gellar) agrees to tend to an older, catatonic woman inside a traditional Japanese home but keeps seeing a strange boy named Toshio (Yuya Ozeki) popping up from nowhere and meowing. Weird, yes, but it's his murdered mother Kayako (Takako Fuji) who truly terrifies—a pale, vengeful ghost with long black hair who makes an awful croaking noise and kills everyone who enters the house.
