What's on screen: In 1974, Ronald DeFoe went nuts and killed his entire family in this Dutch Colonial home. Then, the Lutz family moved in. 28 days later, they moved out. With the help of writer Jay Anson, the Lutzes wrote a “ true” account of their ordeal that explained why they left in a hurry. Years later, they confessed it was completely made up, but that doesn’t make the film any less frightening. At least not with the father (James Brolin) starting to go crazy, the family hearing a voice telling them to get out and something sinister happening in the basement.
