Cinemark, I couldn't agree with you more. There were some scenes early in the film that literally haunted me and kept me awake at night.

I never made it all the way through Trainspotting, and didn't see his other movies, but Danny Boyle has made a whopping movie here. Great, great characters and a gutty ending. Y'all gotta see this one!

AdamW The people of Mumbai speak hindi as well, especially the Muslim population in the city. The bollywood is based in Mumbai which makes hindi films.

It's the most excruciatingly painful and poignant film i believe i have ever seen, the reasons being that (1) Treatment of poor people in India is from the get-go utterly cruel and violent, (2) the cinema verite style of filming makes the violence that much more painful, (3) the lives of the two brothers made orphans during ethnic strife (they are Muslums, theiir earliest attackers are Hindu) is very touching, (4) the film does a great job showing the resilience and resourcefulness of poor people as well as the oppressive conditions under which they live. Overall i highly recommend this film, although i would say one needs a strong constitution at the outset of the film. getting past that, one will find discover.
