I just got back from watching this movie. I love Will Smith but I was pretty disspointed with this movie! I had watched Oprah and thought I'd love it. I thought it was just an average movie. By the middle of my movie you can pretty much figure out what is going to happen....

Oh my gosh I found myself nodding off in the middle of it. Between Oprah and all of the rest of the over-hyping in the media I knew what the entire plot line would be after the first 2 minutes. I don't know how long this movie was but it felt like an eternity. Slow. Slow. Slow. Boring.

I just saw this movie on Christmas Day and I thought it was fantastic. Of course I cried and it did leave a lump in my throat. It was at times heart wretching. I have recommended it to everyone I know.

Movie was well done! Very interesting story line and acting was excellent! If you think this movie was slow to develop, then do not see Benjamin Button.... that movie develops slower than Gone with the Wind....

I just saw the movie last night I usually like to have an idea about the movie I'm going to see. I didn't know much abut this one but, I still thoroughly enjoyed it! It was a tearjearker though!

I just saw this movie. I loved it. It was creatively written with enough suspense to keep me interested even though it ended up being predictable. One loves Will Smith enough to keep saying "Oh no don' t do it" until the very end. It is a sad movie but happy at the same time knowing that a character could love his fellow man that much. I recommend this movie to those that are as sappy at heart as I am.

This is an especially sad and depressing movie to be released during the holidays. Despite the 'karmic justice' ending... Smith does a great acting job and the supporting cast is good as well. To me, one VERY unintentional funny moment is when we realize that Woody Harrelson's character, Ezra, is revealed as a blind vegetarian who is a customer service representative for a meat distribution company. I don't know WHY that's funny to me; it just was in an otherwise very serious, well intended tale that should have been released ANY other time than the holidays.

Just saw this film with my wife, and, while she liked it very much, I have to say it left me cold. The pacing is absolutely glacial. The jittering plot is difficult to follow. Smith and Dawson give top-drawer performances, but I don't think this one will attract a large following, once the word gets out and trumps the manic adverizing/promtion campaign. Not quite a 'chick flick, but awfully close.

My barometer of how good I feel a performance is going is whether I fall asleep during the movie. I thought Will Smith's movie 7 pounds was well acted, thought provoking, and one of his very best efforts. He is growing as an actor. I still dislike him in Sci-Fi's however he is much more in his arena with social issues. I give 7 pounds 4 out of 5 stars and well worth seeing. Good job Will!

Jamaicandelight thanks for reminding me even the title was a rip off of 21 Grams. Get it: the weight of body parts/mass lost before a person dies.----------- There is nada special about this film. it is a cut and paste, non linear film but the ending just doesnt work. Not to mention the let down after you figure out where the film is going about half way thru it.-------- That's not saying anything negatively about Will's acting here or a fine performance by Rosario, it is just that the screenplay and direction is butt. Perhaps the should have just made a "straightforward" film. Because the twists just dont work, not to mention the marketing campaign and the b.s. secrecy didnt help either.

It's so interesting how audiences these days want to be fed a storyline and be in total control of where a movie is going. If you're hoping Seven Pounds will be that movie, do yourself a favor and go watch something more trivial. Will Smith did a fantastic job as the main character and Rosario Dawson was equally impressive. And for those of you who still don't have any idea of what the title means, you should by no means be critiquing the movie.

That movie was butt. Yes I can beleive the screenwriter's only previous work was "Tool Time" This is damn near a rip off of 21 Grams get it: remorse, a weepy character, a special gift juxtaposed plot. Bah Hum Bug, I should have went to see Gran Torino.

I cannot wait to see this movie! It looks intense and I'm sure Will does a great job! Plus, its the same director as The Pursuit of Happiness!!
