I went to see the new James Bond film yesterday, Quantum of Solace, or more appropriately, Too Much Is More Than Enough!!! The convoluted graphics of the title credit sequence should have been a warning that this one wasn't going to match it's predecessor, Casino Royale. The opening chase scene is like reading a book by starting at the middle of chapter four. The producers lost track of the successful Casino Royale and returned to the old goofy Bond format of idiotic airplane chases and more gas explosions than Roger Moore or Sean Connery ever saw combined. The worst editing I have seen in years leads me to blame terrible camera work. And the plot!!! Hoarding water in Bolivia using hidden underground reservoirs is as absurd as the old perversion's of Ian Fleming's plots of the Connery-era films. The acting of Dame Judy Dench and Daniel Craig, what little there is, is the only saving grace of this visually induced headache. I won't be adding this one to my DVD collection.
