"Walk the Line" (2005)

After starring in and producing the romantic comedy dud "Just Like Heaven," Witherspoon rebounded in a major way with a spirited portrayal of June Carter Cash opposite Joaquin Phoenix in the Johnny Cash bio-pic. Both actors faced the added challenge of singing vocals for the concert scenes live on set. Reese's performance earned her a raft of best actress accolades including the National Society of Film Critics, New York Film Critics Circle, Golden Globe, SAG, BAFTA and Oscar.
