The proof: Sure, the movie has an unfunny premise: a lonely cable guy (Carrey) obsessed with his customer (Matthew Broderick). But it’s not the premise of the Ben Stiller directed film that made it so insufferable. Instead it was Carrey doing what he does best: being annoying as hell.
