IDOL CHATTER: Candid Commentary on American Idol Performances

By Brian Mansfield, USA TODAY

During the season, I provide live, blow-by-blow accounts of the show, with comments on and criticism of each performance.

With more than 90 former Idol finalists, there's plenty going on during the off-season, as well -- from auditions and tours to music releases and personal appearances. So there's always lots to read here, even when the show's not on.

Idol Chatter covers current contestants, as well as alumni such as Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, David Cook, even Sanjaya Malakar. We hit the headlines but also go in-depth with exclusive reviews, interviews and weekly analysis of sales and radio airplay data.

The best part of Idol Chatter, however, is the discussion. This community boasts some of the most thoughtful, well-informed fans Idol Nation has to offer -- and I hope you'll add your voice to the mix. You can comment on individual posts, send me a personal message, or join the conversations in our new forum. You can even start a thread of your own. Here's how.

So poke around, get to know the site. Bookmark the front page, find a favorite topic and join the discussion. Thanks for visiting Idol Chatter -- I hope we'll hear from you often!
