Where the Wild Things Are: User Reviews
I really enjoyed this movie, it was totally endearing, the wild things looked amazing. I had heard that it was reshot to be "less dark" after test screenings said it'd be too scary for lil kids... of course when I was a little kids we had all kinds of crazy scary monsters in our movies..( the creepy bird croney things in Dark Crystal for one)... this brought me back -absolutely! The sets were amazing too.
Report This ReviewI went with my 8 year son and an 8 year girl. It was violent at times and I did not see any positive messages for kids in this movie. Big waste of time and money!
Report This ReviewI really wanted to like this film... and I hate giving this a 3 star rating, but the movie was really just so-so. The biggest issue was that nothing really happened during the hour and a half movie. The beginning and ending were wonderful and the movie was beautifully filmed, but the middle of the film was so boring that one of our friends fell asleep during the movie. (And he was actually more excited to see the film than I was!) I realize the movie is based on a children's picture book, but could the characters in the movie do something a little more imaginative that roll in the dirt for an hour?
Rent worthy, but don't spend the money to see it in the theater!
Report This ReviewEverything and more, Where The Wild Things Are went above and beyond my expectations of this beloved childhood book. I would see it over and over again and cannot wait to purchase it on DVD. The art work, the story, the actors all breath taking.
By the way this is not necessarily a movie for small children although the monsters are fascinating to look at I think most young children would be bored and annoying those trying to watch the movie.
Absolutely a must see!
