Pierre Peters Champagne Blanc de Blancs ($47.99)

L.R. Hunley, manager of Piazza Discepoli's White Oak location, recommends some bottles for big and small budgets alike:

"This is a great deal in true Champagne. This is 100 percent 'grand cru,' which means it's from the best quality of grapes. This is 100 percent Chardonnay, so 100 'percent blanc de blancs' (white wine made from white grapes). It's still less than Möet White Star and 100 percent grand cru fruit.

"It's similar to Cremant de Bourgogne. It's very crisp, clean. Because it's 100 percent Chardonnay, it's got a nice acidity to it (and) the nice minerality I spoke of earlier."
