Planning a course for zombies takes a bit of consideration. Ilan Kaim settled for a stretch of Downtown just less than a mile, figuring the average person could do it in 20 minutes - and the average zombie, with all his moaning and staggering and cries for "braaaaaains," could do it in 30, maybe 40 minutes.
"Zombies usually don't walk that fast," says Kaim of Green Township.
We'll see how quickly they get it done Friday, when hundreds of zombified locals are expected to head into the city and freak out people who aren't expecting the invasion.
The first Cincinnati Zombie Walk will take place on a loop from the Underground Railroad Freedom Center, up Main Street to Sixth Street and back down Walnut Street. Zombies will stroll past Cadillac Ranch. They'll bleed on the sidewalks where perplexed people will wait for city buses.
Zombie walks have been taking place for years across the country and the world, organizer Kaim said, but this is a first for Cincinnati, which will be seeing an influx of zombie-related Halloween events this weekend.
"For some reason in this area in particular it has been a zombie year," Kaim said. "Everybody has been doing something zombie everywhere you look."
