Did you see country hottie Luke Bryan sing the National Anthem last night before the MLB All-Star game?

He kept glancing down at his hand as he sang.

UPDATE, 1:30 p.m. ET: Bryan is talking to fans on Twitter about what happened. He says:

"I had a few key words written down to insure myself that I wouldn't mess up. I just wanted to do my best. I promise it was from the heart.

"If I offended anyone with my approach I sincerely apologize. Anytime I sing the anthem it is an honor and my heart beats out of my chest."

One Twitter fan wondered if he was checking his watch. And another wrote: "Luke Bryan sings the national anthem the way I used to take geometry tests."

Byran tweeted: "I did check my watch because I knew the stealth bomber would fly over 2 minutes in and I knew a started a little late."

And, he says, "Being a part of the all star game was amazing and I look forward to the next time I can perform the anthem. Thanks y'all. Love ya"

In other words, it looked like he was checking the lyrics, which have caused many stars to flub the song in the past. Bryan hasn't commented on it yet.

And some of his fans didn't mind if he needed a cheat sheet. Wrote one: "I don't even care that Luke Bryan had the words written on his hand. #istilllovehim"

And Kellie Pickler tweeted: "Great job on the anthem! Yay USA! ‪#MLB"‬
