The Plum St. Café has been in business in the same little spot for more than 25 years. It's not huge (maximum capacity 84), it's not fancy (unless you consider brick walls ornate) and the cuisine is pretty simple (sandwiches, salads and soups reign supreme). It might be a cliché, but it really is a place where the staff and customers pretty much do know each others' names. The restaurant has the look of an urban Midwestern tavern but all the charm of a classic neighborhood mainstay.
