Antone Grammer established his first restaurant-saloon on Vine Street in 1872 as a cultural haven for the German community. In 1911, Anton’s son, Frank Grammer, inherited the restaurant and built the present-day signature barroom that features a massive burled mahogany bar, leaded glass windows and a panoramic mural of the Rhine River Valley. All menu items are value priced and feature a contemporary take on German classics as well as the traditional classics. They have a full bar with seven beers on tap, various bottled beers, premium spirits and German wines.
