German-speaking people traveling to breweries or reading The Cincinnati Volksfreund, Cincinnati's German newspaper -- those days of Over-the-Rhine are long gone, but many of the historic buildings still remain. One of these prized structures is the recently re-opened bar, Grammer's. Closed since 1992, the new owners of this 135-year-old restaurant have kept the building and décor intact in order to preserve Cincinnati's German heritage. Come in through the marvelous beveled glass entrance from Germany, cross the tiled floors and grab a drink at the ornate wooden bar, or sit down to a game of Scrabble, Jenga or Parcheesi.
