In honor of Cincy Beer Week, my friend and I stopped in to check out Tap House Grill on Montgomery Road.
The mood: The space used to be Willie’s Sports Bar and has the same casual feel and theme with big screen TVs, video games and Keno if you are in the betting mood.
The drinks: After some power shopping at the mall, I was excited to check out their beer list. They have 24 beers on tap plus four that rotate seasonally. I opted for the Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat Ale ($4.50). It was smooth, crisp and a little fruity. My friend went with a local brew, Mt. Carmel Amber Ale ($4.50). She said it was slightly hoppy, bold, but still smooth.
The food: As we chatted and sipped our beers, we added some appetizers to the mix. The Bavarian Pretzels and Beer Cheese ($8) and Shrimp Boom Ba ($12) complimented the beer choices and soaked up the alcohol. The shrimp have a kick to them, so watch out!
I looked over the dinner menu and while it is smaller than I thought, I was intrigued by the Lemongrass Ginger Soy Pork Loin ($15) and the Baked Ham n’ Goat Sub ($8.75).
The verdict: This is a great spot for the big game, after a trek through Kenwood Towne Center or for a casual dinner with the fam. The kids can shoot some hoops with the basketball game while you bet on Keno. There is plenty to entertain you while you sit back, relax and unwind. Or ladies, drop your man off for the game so you can shop in peace at Nordstrom!
